Ryan Mundy Creates App to Improve Black Mental Health Care Access
Ryan Mundy, a former NFL player, launched Alkeme, an app focused on improving Black mental health, after experiencing struggles with anxiety, depression, and identity post-football. After facing challenges in finding culturally competent therapy, Mundy created the platform to offer Black-led mental health resources addressing generational trauma and workplace issues. Alkeme features video courses, meditations, and mindfulness practices. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play and was featured as one of Apple's Apps of the Day for Black History Month.
